15th April 2010 We decided very last minute to make a NZ trip. Walkabout had still a motorhome available with long enough beds and standing height at a reasonable price.
Its customer service was very prompt in reacting to our various questions and handling the payment.
You feel that the Walkabout company is of manageable dimensions, where customers are not just numbers.
The van we received was up to all promises made, excellent, everything worked and not a single issue. Adequate time was taken for the delivery at the Auckland hotel, and clear explanations given on all aspects of the motorhome. Also, some valuable tips on excellent camping sites.
We caused some (parking) damage to the van, for which the repair costs were shortly after our return, realistically evaluated, and processed by deduction from the bond.
The return of the van in Christchurch was very well handled. When we realized the next day that we had left some valuables in the van's safe, they were so nice to come by at the hotel to return them.
All in all, a very good service, in all aspects, and next time we surely will book through Walkabout again ! Warmly recommended !

The RV we had from Walkabout Rentals was one of those big Mitsubishi Fuso RVS very nice , only year old , everyone at walkabout was so darn helpful . good to see good service

5.0Just returned back to USA from a fabulous holiday in NZ , I must say the people down there are darn friendly . The RV we had from Walkabout Rentals was one of those big Mitsubishi Fuso RVS very nice , only year old , everyone at walkabout was so darn helpful . good to see good service

27th March 2009 Have now been back to NZ 3 times now , you have a fabulous country and the weather was superb, We travelled Northland of the North Island and went fishing and tramping . Twice now we have hired from Walkabout Rentals ,This time we hired one of their Mitsubishi 6 berths they are very nice motorhomes, very friendly bunch and help with ferry crossings and good places to travel, Told us to go fishing in bAy of Islands with Strayline , had such a fabulous time ,will never forget.

29th February 2008 We very much enjoyed our time in New Zealand and especially enjoyed the use of a Walkabout campervan. A special thanks to Shane Smale and his team for all of his personal time he spent with us both when we landed and again when we departed. We really appreciate all his efforts to make sure that we had a place to stay the night before our flight to Melbourne. We just completed 10 days along the Great Ocean Road, Victoria Australia in a Maui 6 berth campervan. We had a great experience, but just did not compare with the personalization Walkabout Rentals gave us . Also, no comparison with regard to the campervans. Took a bit to lower our expectations so we could enjoy our Aussie adventure. Kids also kept saying, "but this isn't a Walkabout."
We will be back
