Chatfield Engineering Ltd was established in 1948 to provide the NZ marine market with high quality bronze based, marine hardware and fittings.
Today Chatfield's have our own non-ferrous foundry and continue to cast and machine high quality products including our Blue Water Shaft seals, complete rudder assemblies including Elite Rudder Seals, deck fittings, and general marine hardware.
Chatfield Engineering also make Game Chairs and Outriggers for the sport fishing market.
Our CNC lathes and experienced staff enable Chatfield Engineering to machine shafts and couplings for marine engines to fine tolerances.
Chatfield Engineering are also the New Zealand agents for Vesconite and Vesconite Hilube bushing and bearing materials. Vesconite is a self lubricating material developed for use in dirty and wet applications. Vesconite has been successfully used in commercial marine situations throughout the world. Vesconite is also used in earth moving and transport equipment, hydro power, railways, conveyors and lifts, waste water and sewerage applications.
