The interior reflects considerable authenticity with the furnishings and many other items imported straight from Belgium. The Abbey name is a tribute to the monks who pioneered many of Belgium(TM)s extensive range of beers in ancient abbeys and monasteries over the last few centuries.
Five of the most popular Belgian draught beers - Stella Artois, Leffe Blonde and Brune, Hoegaarden and Belle-Vue Kriek - can be enjoyed on tap, along with dozens of specialty bottled beers, many of which can be enjoyed in authentic matching glassware. The menu combines French finesse and German generosity, the two hallmarks of Belgian cuisine, with other popular European and New Zealand favourites.
