Sprott House is committed to providing outstanding care for the older person and is the new home of NZ's first state of the art Dementia Unit as well as the newly added Married Rooms for elderly couples.
The Villa, rest home, hospital and dementia unit offer a friendly and supportive environment. Our hospital offers quality lifestyle as well an exceptional care environment. We also have 14 modern villas that offer security and independent living, with qualified nursing staff on site 24 hours a day.
First established over 100 years ago, Sprott House offers a range of residential facilities and aged care.
The retirement and rest home complex stands in just over 3/4 of a hectare on Messines Road, Karori. It is surrounded by established deciduous and evergreen trees and mature gardens including roses, lavender and many other varieties of flowers and overlooks the valley with glimpses of the harbour.
It is ideally located in the residential heart of Karori in Messines Road Wellington, just a few minutes from Marsden Village, as well as the Karori Mall. 10 minutes from the centre of the city, it is well situated for shopping and is within walking distance from nearby cafes.
Sprott House offers a warm, caring and secure environment for residents and provides a home away from home when total independence is no longer an option and aged care is needed.
Our aged care services of assisted living, hospital, rest home and dementia care are provided through four separate facilities.
We believe that people should remain as independent as possible and have developed our facilities based on this philosophy. The latest development was the launch of our state of the art specially designed modern dementia unit, the first of its kind in New Zealand.
We also place great emphasis on high quality and well trained staff and have a centre for staff training which is also available for hire for functions or a training venue.
