An absolutely amazing place.
Expertly laid out, with wonderfully warm feelings in the theatre style "Sight & Tasting Auditorium, this has a delightfull open_air quality to the main entertainment area, with an outdoor access onto a semi public "pergola" courtyard which gains astounding views to the northern vistas, and with an overall WOW to the whole complex... is what makes THE BIG PICTURE (tm), a "must_stop & see" establishment - (when on the general wine trail) - whilst you are traveling through "Central".
Big Picture Wine is a world first interactive wine film and tasting experience functioning as a 'Centre of Excellence' for wine regions everywhere.
Each Big Picture Wine centre is unique to its location, providing the customer with an unforgettable interactive adventure based around the region's wines.
The Big Picture Wine Adventure presents the World of Wine to you in a way never experienced before. In our purpose built wine tasting theatre you will witness first hand what makes wine so beautiful.
The Experience embodies an aerial journey through the wine region, endowing customers with spatial awareness whilst intermittently landing at wineries throughout.
The three ways of evaluating a great wine are by Smell, Sight and the heavenly part, Taste. We have catered for those three criterion superbly and extensively through our Big Picture Wine concept.
Big Picture Wine Theatres are state-of-the-art, set up to amaze you visually and dramatically - combined with actual wine tasting as you immerse yourself in the stunning film.
Big Picture Wine Aroma Rooms are most important for the comprehensive understanding of wine (but not limited to wine!). The Aroma Rooms allow you to explore the realm of smell evocatively and educatively.
The Big Picture Restaurant, of course, is a great venue to have a glass (or two) of your favorite wine with exceptional and award winning dishes. A great cup of coffee not to forget.
The many different wines of Central Otago that we have in our Selection will certainly make it easy for you to find a great bottle of wine in our Cellar Door, because they all are.
We are also set up to cater for large groups and even functions off the premises. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance in any way.
Find unique Big Picture Wine complexes also in Napier - Hawkes Bay (opened October 2008), and the Auckland Fish Market in the Viaduct Basin - Auckland (opening December 15, 2008)
