Telecom Store branches in New Zealand

I received very poor customer service at this store, mainly from the manager!, after I reported that my phone had overheated. As they couldn't find a fault on the one day it was tested I was told I had to accept my old phone back. When I was told telecom couldn't do this and I had to take my old phone back I refused to do this. I knew I was within my rights to have the phone replaced and I did not want to take the risk of the phone overheating again and causing a fire, putting my family's safety at risk. The manager laughed at me and after I stated I was willing to make a formal complaint and go to a disputes tribunal he told me go for it and said he would not replace the phone. I phoned telephone, spoke to a supervisor and immediately they agreed to replace the phone. If you wish to have a telecom phone I would suggest phoning them to order it rather than dealing with the store as they clearly don't value their customers or their safety.
