Medical Clinics in New Zealand

I have been going to Sumner Health Centre since I was young and every experience I have had has been terrible. The female doctor there 5 years ago (forget her name) had a condescending demeanor, waiting for my (positive) strep throat results she rolled her eyes saying everyone was coming in thinking they had strep throat and no one had tested positive for it. It took a year and many visits complaining of a sore tummy, lack of energy (very common sign of Coeliacs) before they finally thought to test for Coeliacs disease. I have recently returned back to Christchurch from Australia and require a referral from a GP for my 19 week pregnancy scan. Grudgingly I rung Sumner Health Centre to arrange an appointment as it was easier than signing with a new doctor as I'm only here for a few weeks before moving to Auckland (and I was hoping after 3 years things had changed)... it hasn't. After arranging and turning up for an appointment for 5pm Thursday I was told that they had booked me in for 4.30pm Monday. I can see that their uselessness has filtered all the way though their practice... and also why the ultrasound group recommended everyone in the area (Mt Pleasant and Redcliffs medical centres) but not Sumner.
