Fantastic Thai food at great prices! - Well the one in Nelson is (Hardy St) so hope this Motueka one the same as it's fantastic and BYO which is even better.

Excellent service, great meals. Good value. I have a freezer full of their product. What more needs to be said?

Attempted to have Christmas Day lunch at the Gothic. Having booked 6 weeks in advance and been promised a vegetarian option - we turned up to find this had been totally ignored. Despite re-confirming a couple of days before Christmas Day, and making clear vegetarian meant no meat and no fish, we were offered the turkey or the fish. The woman in charge (Joanne I think) was unbelievably rude and eventually grudgingly offered us pasta. She said the chef couldn't be expected to whip up a veggie option at no notice! We felt six weeks was plenty. Totally ruined our Christmas Day lunch and plans (we're on holiday here so no option to do our own thing) - we can cook pasta anytime but wanted a proper roast. Avoid at all cost!

Just the place to stop after a long drive from christchurch, double doors opened to the world, cruisy relaxed atmosphere with music to match. always a delicious meal and always friendly staff

FROM ICONIC TO PATHETIC. HOT Mamas cafe was once a colorful, lively iconic venue of Motueka. Those times are long gone. It has now been turned into a sterile, blend and tasteless venue. To top that, the simple menu has been simplified even further by removing the tasty burger menu; it now consists basically of pizza, pasta or noodles, steak or fish and chips; and that's it as far as main goes. As if this was not bad enough, the owner will take your plate from you and kick you out if you complain about a 40 minutes wait for steak and chips. And I'm not making this up, that is what happened to my partner and I last night as we wanted to try the place under the new management. We both work in the service industry, we know the customer is always right, and this was simply an unacceptable behavior. Although we were some of the lucky ones, as I should specify our wait was minimal compare to some other tables. A couple in particular was already sitting down waiting for there meal when we arrived; they were still waiting when we left over an hour later. I suspect they may still be waiting. My advice is stay well clear of HOT MAMA's for now.
