This historic and full of character hotel has been revived by its new owners. Nice rooms, good quality beds and facilities. Still has the feel of the old NZ country pubs, with the bar where all the locals gather each evening. Has a restaurant but it was closed for a private function while we were there. No other food in the village so pays to phone ahead and make a booking. The old public hot baths have gone but a new private mineral pool has been built - give yourself time to be able to cool the pool down to your required temperature, with the garden hose! Recommended if you want a nostalgic NZ experience.
