Easygo Campers - Pacific Horizon Campers. Our cotract stated complimentary pick up from city motel or airport, this cost NZ$21.00. The pick up for the camper was arranged for 9:00am, the camper turned up at 11:00am. Was upgraded to a 4 birth from a 2+1 boy what a downgrade. The unit was built on a truck and it drove like one. I climber in to get going, looked in the rear view mirror and a rung of the ladder to access the over cab bed obscured the view out the back. Started up a bit noisy sorted out the gears which are different from a normal 5 speed and got going. Not happy the noise turned into a racket with added gear box and diff whine and loose steering, and I have to put up with this for four weeks. After 50 Km I rang the company but no go, nothing else available and "as it is a diesel camper one must expect a bit of noise". We soldier on, after 3 days we purchase ear plugs not so good for conversation but at least I am not suffering ear damage. After 11 days we go back to the depot seaking some satisfacion. Again nothing else available, a noise level test peaks at 87dBa and as NZ standard is 90 this is deemed to be acceptable by the manager. Industrial standard in Australia is 80 dBa. What about a refund? the manager does not have the power to give a refund but we can upgrade to a 6 birth for NZ$1410.00 for the remainder of our booking. No consideration was given to customer satisfaction. We spent 4 and a half hours in the depot trying to arange some sort of copromise but did no good. We finally put all the cushions on the floor to deaden the noise and used cotton wool in our ears, we found that with just the right amount packed in we could deaden the noise and still converse if we spoke loudly. I would not recommend Easygo or Pacific Horizon (same company) and will definitly not deal with them again. I have given a 3 rating only because the the camper unit was quite satisfactory.
