Wining & Dining in Taranaki

While the rooms are a little dated (the building is over 100 yrs old) we received excellent hospitality by the owners. The pub was homely with pool tables and pokies. Although food was not being served the owner happily ordered us some chips from the shop down the road and allowed us to eat in bar area. Lovely experience!!

As an ardent Auckland restaurant goer, last weekend on a trip with friends to New Plymouth was very pleasantly rewarded with a visit to Table Restaurant at Nice Hotel. I had heard about this place from foodie friends of mine and was not disappointed. The nite we dined, 6 of us, was the launch of their new menu. We shared the hot platter on the deck while the waitress explained the fish of the day, freshly caught Snapper. Unfortunately after the platter I could not manage an entree but chose the grilled lamb, sweet bread and lamb neck jelly. Wasn't sure what I would be getting but great. Two of my friends ordered a fondue which I couldn't help but dip into because it looked so good. I settled for the cheese washed down with a nice sticky wine. I'm one who looks for faults naturally and could only find a mark on the chair. Well done you guys at Table. I'll definitely be back :)

The smorgasboard is fantastic value for money, The staff are friendly, and I would have o say it is the best Chinese Restaurant in Taranaki!! The meat in the dishes melts in you mouth. The sweet n Sour Pork dish is superb no fatty bits. They make and awesum Orange glazed beef dish. You can also have a Roast Meal. Takeaway or sit down. I have lived in Stratford and have now moved to Hawera, I really miss Broadway and if we go to New Plymouth we always stop in at Broadway for a meal.
