Food is very cheap and satisfying if you're after something quick and easy. Plenty of tables and space if you're eating in. great assortment of sweet food. Does look a little dirty at times though...

Feel like something different for lunch? Wholly bagels is it! They do delicious bagels with such a wide range of fillings everyone is bound to be pleased. My favorite is the Tuscan - mushrooms, mozzarella and pesto, with the barnyard (bacon, egg and cheese) a close second. The prices may be a little high but the quality of the food definetly makes up for it.

I always try to get here when I'm in Wellington, because the food is always exceptional, whether a 'simple' baked item, or a complex dish of the menu. They go beyond the standards to offer food that delights. It's not cheap, but it's fantastic.

We went to 'The Port' after shopping at the market on Sunday morning, it was a beautiful day and there were people everywhere. We managed to get a seat outside - which was great but unfortunately this was the only highlight of our dining experience. After managing to get our coffee order wrong, our decidedly average coffee turned up (milk poorly frothed). All Wellingtonians expect a better latte! We had heard other tables inquiring about the status of their meals and after 30 minutes, we inquired to be told there was a 30-45min wait, and we were a tad annoyed that this information was withheld upfront. It became dreadfully apparent that the staff and set-up were completely overwhlemed. When our food finally showed up, my poached eggs where totally overcooked, to the point that they were basically hard boiled. I took the risk of pointing this out, and the waitress simply said something about letting the kitchen know. An apology would have been nice. Unfortunately the French toast didn't fare much better, it lacked both sufficient maple syrup and there was only one half of an uncooked banana. Sub-par food at $15+ a plate! All in all, it was a dismal dining experience with both the service and the food well below par. Apart from the location (1 star for location), this 'restaurant' has very little going for it. We suggest you give this one a miss, we wont be going back.
