Restaurants in Taranaki

As an ardent Auckland restaurant goer, last weekend on a trip with friends to New Plymouth was very pleasantly rewarded with a visit to Table Restaurant at Nice Hotel. I had heard about this place from foodie friends of mine and was not disappointed. The nite we dined, 6 of us, was the launch of their new menu. We shared the hot platter on the deck while the waitress explained the fish of the day, freshly caught Snapper. Unfortunately after the platter I could not manage an entree but chose the grilled lamb, sweet bread and lamb neck jelly. Wasn't sure what I would be getting but great. Two of my friends ordered a fondue which I couldn't help but dip into because it looked so good. I settled for the cheese washed down with a nice sticky wine. I'm one who looks for faults naturally and could only find a mark on the chair. Well done you guys at Table. I'll definitely be back :)

I ate here about 6 months ago with my family. As I walked into the building I wasn't expecting alot from the meal as we had to walk through a pretty miserable bar to get to the dining area. Once we were seated the waitress was very "onto it" and helpful and service was pretty quick. Once the food arrived it was a pleasent surprise, bumping the overall rating up to 3.5 stars from me.

Sun World has a very good customer service,very good selection of well prepared food,very good value for money,a high standard of cleanliness. I would highly reccommend this restuarant to family and friends. very good for holding club and family functions. yours sincerely, Don Falconer.

While I was in New Plymouth for the Womad Concert in march I was taken out to Marinovich's for a meal. I believe this was once called the High Fry. .Many years ago. I used to go there as a child with my father for our weekly feed of fish.( In the 1970s) The place may have changed hands. but the fish and service is still one of the best in New Zealand. And I look forward to the next time I am in the north Island so I can return for some true Taranaki cuisine Dinglis Timaru.

Are you sitting at home or in a Motel and looking for a godd old fashioned Kiwi roast? Then get in the car or on the phone and you won't be disappointed. Great selection of roasts & other kiwi faves all served with a smile & very small price. Eat in or takeawy & enjoy.

Fantiastic food, service and atmosphere. Easily competes with the best restaurants in New Plymouth.
