Land in Lower Hutt City

we called a taxi from this company in Petone and asked to be taken the 9km to Aotea Quay Ferry Terminal. There was one adult, one 8y.o. and 2 infants with three bags. The driver demanded $45.00 for a $25.00 trip. There was no time to argue as the kids were out and going. The taxi federation said it was exorbitant and the company said that it was their shcedule rate. Rip-off!

The way I determine the kind of service I am going to receive from a service provider is by the way the service provider treats the people who are not their immediate customers (because these people may well be their future customers). I would not use this company as the driver I came across was selfish, rude and generally unpleasant. The dispatcher was unfriendly and unhelpful when I rang to complain about the driver as well.

We had a fantastic experience with Kiwi Autohomes and highly recommend them. A big thanks to all the team at the Auckland depot for their help in making our first family holiday- 2 adults, 2 children (4 and 10 months)- so enjoyable! Keran gave very good advice about which van to hire (the Concord) prior to our trip and answered all my queries very promptly. We also greatly appreciated the free shuttle to, and from the airport. On collecting our van, John showed us everything we needed to know about the van together with lots of maps and information about the North Island. The van was fully equipped with everything we needed for our trip and we had no problems driving it. We were really pleased we chose Kiwi Autohomes for our holiday- they are a great example of a real family business with good customer service at a highly competitive price.
