HI, My fiance and I were looking at using the conference centre for my wedding. I spoke to a man who was AWESOME! He quoted me various prices, said they'd do disconts the more we used the facility and also said we could bring in our own food. Unfortunately it turned out he didnt know what he was talking about and apparently he was completely wrong. The next person I spoke to was a woman who was nice enough however she over-quoted me hundreds of dollars from what the website advertised. So that when she gave me a "discount" really all she was doing was taking away all the over-charging along with an extra hundred dollars. According to the website Emerald will work with whatever budget you have. This is also a lie. Their standing charge for breakfast is $28 per person which frankly is quite expensive considering half of it was cold foods (eg cereals etc). This is standard pricing which she refused to come down on, there was no negotiation at all. Considering I was told I could bring my own caterers in the should have been willing to negotiate on this in the least. So all in all I was offerred a $100 discount for all my troubles. Not impressed. I feel having the experience with them that I have they should be going the extra mile. This has not been the case at all. All ive learnt from this is I wouldn't believe anything Emerald hotel advertises or says.
