We decided very last minute to make a NZ trip. Walkabout had still a motorhome available with long enough beds and standing height at a reasonable price. Its customer service was very prompt in reacting to our various questions and handling the payment. You feel that the Walkabout company is of manageable dimensions, where customers are not just numbers. The van we received was up to all promises made, excellent, everything worked and not a single issue. Adequate time was taken for the delivery at the Auckland hotel, and clear explanations given on all aspects of the motorhome. Also, some valuable tips on excellent camping sites. We caused some (parking) damage to the van, for which the repair costs were shortly after our return, realistically evaluated, and processed by deduction from the bond. The return of the van in Christchurch was very well handled. When we realized the next day that we had left some valuables in the van's safe, they were so nice to come by at the hotel to return them. All in all, a very good service, in all aspects, and next time we surely will book through Walkabout again ! Warmly recommended !

Worst service ever!!! Can I do zero stars? Booked a cab in advance in Auckland for 4.30pm. Called at 4.45pm and informed it was just around the corner. Called again at 4.55pm fuming as I had a 5pm deadline (5 min journey away) and was advised the driver had picked up someone else (they had my name and an exact pickup point), they dispatched another cab which arrived at 5.10pm. I asked for a discount as they had made me seriously late for an important deadline, and they said no but gave me the owners phone number so he could explain my lateness... what am I 5yrs old??? The traffic at 5.10pm was considerable heavier and my 5min journey was about 20 min long and way more expensive than it should have been. Use at your own peril, I can forgive the lateness with better customer service, but the whole episode was incredibly infuriating.
