I've been training at Ponsonby Dojo for over a year now and it has been a truly fulfilling and enjoyable experience. I was really nervous at first , especially because I was the only woman, but I was welcomed by all the other members and was soon at ease. The style is a little more informal and you're not expected to do anything more than what you are capable of. There is a great environment at the dojo and it is fun as well as challenging. Doing Ninjutsu has enabled me to feel more confident and I think it's important for women to know the basics of self-defence. I recommend it to anyone looking to do a martial art.
